Assemble the Pump and Body

  1. Remove the four white thumb screws on the base of the skimmer and detach the skimmer body.
  2. Slide the pump onto the mounting plate on the skimmer base. The mounting plate is a tight fit to reduce pump vibration.
  3. Slide the bubble plate onto the pump and secure it with the retaining nut.
  4. Secure the bubble plate lid using the nylon screw.
  5. Orient the bubble plate lid so the section without holes is above the pump output.
  6. Route the pump power cable into the slot located in the skimmer base
  7. Carefully slide the skimmer body over the bubble plate assembly and pump, aligning the hole in the skimmer body with the pump intake. Re-attach the skimmer body to the base using the thumb screws.

Install the Skimmer in the Sump

After fully assembling your skimmer, it’s time to install it on your system.

Installation Requirements

  • In-sump/in-water installation only.
  • Install after a filter sock or other mechanical filter to prevent floating debris and other material from entering the skimmer pump.
  • Install a foam block or filter floss after the skimmer to catch any bubbles escaping the skimmer.
  • Ensure your skimmer runs in water at the following depth for optimal performance. If needed, adjust the baffles on your sump to raise or lower the water level in the skimmer section. If that is not an option, use an acrylic stand or an upside-down Tupperware container to raise your skimmer so it sits at the correct water level.

Connect Controller and Power Supply

  1. Connect the controller to the pump and mount your controller in a cool, dry, and accessible location.
  2. Connect the power supply to the controller and mount it in a cool, dry location. Do NOT place the power supply on the floor or near the sump, as even a little water can be a hazard.
  3. Plug in the power supply and begin skimming!
